TYPEFACE DEVELOPMENT - SCATTERBRAIN STUDIOS

When adding font creation to my list of offered services - yes, including the technical bit! - I thought there was no better project to start with than to create a typeface for my other business: Scatterbrain Studios®.

In addition to illustrations for the licensed brand, I usually create hand lettered phrases for each style guide (naturally) but it always struck me that this didn’t offer the most flexible experience for any licensees who want to create their own products for the Scatterbrain brand. Standard typefaces usually plug this gap but making the Scatterbrain handwriting customisable seemed like the best option all round. It also presented me with an exciting challenge to expand my skills!

The result is a full english alphabet, including caps, lower case and foreign characters, as well as punctuation, numbers and 93 ligatures to add a joined up element!
